Unworn Rolex Deep Sea Clearance Diver 60th Anniversary Sea Dweller, with all stickers and hangtags included. 1 of 50 Rolex Deep Sea Clearance Diver 60th Anniversary Sea Dweller’s made to mark the 60th anniversary of the Clearance Diver’s branch of the Royal Navy. This very rare watch, limited to only 50 pieces, was only issued to a few select serving members of the Clearance Dive unit of the Royal Navy. This special edition of the Rolex Deep sea is marked with a specially engraved case back showing the Clearance Diver crest, with a number out of 50 marked matching the divers unit number and the initials of the Clearance Diver who originally owned it. This model we have for sale bears the Divers number which corresponds to his actual service number which he was assigned on graduating to the Clearance dive unit, and we also have a medal given with the watch which bears this same number, which he was presented on graduating to the Clearance dive unit. Rolex limited edition watches have a history of being highly collectable. A recent Rolex Sea Dweller made for the Italian Police “Polizia Di Sommozzatori” of which 78 were made, sold for over £60,000. Rolex’s history with The Royal Navy also adds to the collectability of this watch, due to fact they used to produce Submariners dubbed “Milsub” (Military Submariner) for the Royal Navy in the 1970’s. By all accounts, this could be the rarest and most collectible Rolex of modern times. Of the very few formal associations that the Rolex Watch Company have entered into, this is the most recent, and celebrates the remarkable association between Rolex and the Royal Navy. Another obvious association that springs to mind is between Rolex and Comex, a watch made for the professional diving company of that name. The exceptional rise in value over the past ten years of these commercial divers’ watches, which are not as rare, nor as specific, as this series, bodes very well for the future value of this 60th Anniversary Deepsea Clearance Dive watch.
